 Welcome to  4th Grade!

Hi, I am Bridget Zicarelli and I am your child’s teacher. I look forward to a great year. Your child is in an awesome school where diversity shines and all of the children in the school bring with them varying abilities, interests, learning styles, and talents. I feel that parents, teachers, and the administrator at St. John join together with a common goal that supports student learning that will prepare them for future grades.

My philosophy of teaching is very simple. All children can succeed. The students in my class have unique strengths, some of which are yet to be discovered. My greatest challenge is to bring out the best in each child and then push them just a little bit more than he or she thought they could go. I believe teaching is more than just reading, writing and arithmetic. Success is also measured in other ways…a really shy child may overcome the fear of speaking in front of the class; a struggling reader is able to finish and comprehend a long book; a student new to the school is able to make friends easily with a student who has been at St. John since kindergarten. I believe that these things along with more make up success.

I feel fortunate to say that I love what I do. Thanks for sharing your kids with me. If there is anything you need to discuss with me, please don’t hesitate to email me and we will set up a conference. I believe that with open communication, we will have a great year. I look forward to a great year.
